First thoughts on diaspora

Yes, I’m a sucker for alpha software, and in the case of diaspora, pre-alpha, it seems. That’s nothing new to me: my laptop runs a version of Ubuntu that hasn’t officially been released yet, so yes, I am used to odd bugs and filing the occasional bug report. Someone has to do it, and I enjoy seeing new features roll out on a daily (hourly?) basis....

My thoughts on patents.

  Earlier this week, I got an email from a colleague from my days back at “the start-up” to let me know that the first patent that we’d applied for had been granted. Attached to the email was a pdf document of the certificate, and the bright shiny front page of the patent, looking all official, with my name on it. Fejes et al, always seems so pretty...
