Austin is back on the rise in latest 'best places to live' ranking

Austin once ruled the annual U.S. News & World Report rankings, coming in at No. 1 three years in a row from 2017 to 2019. It was knocked out of the top 10 in 2022 and fell all the way down to No. 40 in 2023. But 2024 is looking way better partly due to methodology changes for this respected list.
