Founded in 1957, Henny Penny Corp. is a foodservice equipment manufacturer whose clients include restaurant giants like McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, KFC and Chick-fil-A.

Scottsdale-based microchip company Onsemi says it will lay off 1,000 workers and consolidating its global footprint as it seeks to cut costs.

Recreational-boat engine manufacturer Mercury Marine instituted a summertime layoff of about 300 employees at its headquarters plant in Fond du Lac, citing softening demand in some of its markets.

Panera Bread is set to close down a dough-making facility in Chandler this summer and in the process will lay off more than 60 employees.

This and other changes in Tupperware operations are meant to improve its profit margin and service its debt load.

At issue is whether oil, gas and coal companies can participate.
