What is Global search?
Global search is the All public feeds tab of the Search page: it searches the public feeds Inoreader collects, sources you don't follow included, while My account searches only what you follow and keep. It's a Pro feature. You can narrow it to popular sites or a Featured Collection, and any search can become a monitoring feed.
Run a Global search
- Click Search in the tab bar.
- Under Search in, switch to All public feeds.
- Pick All sites, Popular sites, Most popular sites or a collection under Featured Collections.
- Type your words in the search box and press Enter.
- Adjust Language, Match, Order or Specific period in the row above the results.

Choose the scope
All sites searches every public feed that at least three people follow, plus the feeds you follow. Popular sites keeps to feeds with 100 or more followers, Most popular sites to 1,000 or more. A Featured Collection limits the search to that topic's feeds. Each opens a submenu of narrower collections, and your scope is remembered for the next search. Private feeds (web feeds, newsletters, monitoring feeds) never leave their own account. Can I search only within my own account? covers the My account tab, and What can I search for with Global search? what the public feeds hold.
Filter the results
Match is title and content, titles only or content only. Order newest first (the default), oldest first or best matches first. Specific period the past 24 hours, week, month or year (the default), all time or a custom interval. Language one language. The search understands AND, OR, NOT, quotes and parentheses, and the query builder composes a query for you. How do I search for articles in Inoreader? and Can I filter Global search results? have the details.
Turn a search into a monitoring feed
Once the results show, click Create monitoring feed next to the result count. The feed's name is filled in with your search: change it if you like, then click Create monitoring feed in the dialog. New matches arrive in that feed from then on. Monitoring feeds are Pro, 30 included.
Plans and limits
Global search and the Language filter are Pro, Team plans included. On Free the public tab shows one result and an upgrade prompt, while the My account tab, the query builder and the Match, Order and Specific period filters work on every plan. The feature page Find any article in your feeds and beyond and the blog post Discover quality content with our new Global search update say more.
