How does the Pro trial work?

A Free account can try Pro for 14 days without a card. Click Start free trial on the Upgrade page, or Start Pro trial on a Pro feature, then Try it free, and when the 14 days are over the account goes back to Free on its own with nothing charged.

Start the trial

  1. Open Upgrade, or a Pro feature such as Rules, and click Start free trial or Start Pro trial.
  2. In the dialog, click Try it free. No card or payment details are asked for.
  3. Inoreader confirms that your Pro trial is active. The profile panel, behind your avatar in the tab bar, shows Pro (Free trial) until the end date, for example Nov 28, 2026.
The Inoreader Pro trial dialog listing Pro features, with the Try it free button and the note that no credit card is required.
The dialog lists the Pro features and needs no credit card.

The trial button shows only to accounts that can start a trial. A Pro trial is offered once per account, and it isn't available everywhere.

During the trial

You have the Pro plan, with the same features and limits as a paid Pro plan, compared with the other plans on Pricing. If you buy Pro during the trial, the trial ends and the paid plan starts on the day you pay, so the unused trial days aren't added. What happens when I upgrade an existing subscription? explains how the paid period starts.

When the trial ends

At the end date the trial stops by itself and nothing is charged: a trial has no payment method and no renewal. On your next visit Inoreader tells you that your free Pro trial has expired and offers Buy Inoreader Pro.

Your account is back on Free. RSS feeds past the first 150 stop updating but aren't removed, and rules, filters, monitoring feeds, Web feeds and newsletter feeds over the Free share are switched off and come back when you buy Pro. Saved articles, tags and folders are kept, as What happens if I cancel my subscription? describes.

Team plans have no trial button. Contact us and we'll set up a test drive for you.

Start trial on Email digests and Intelligence reports starts a separate 14-day trial of that feature, once per feature and also for Pro accounts, and you return to your current plan when it ends.

The Pro trial is for Free accounts. When you're ready to buy, How do I use a promo code or coupon? covers discounts at checkout.
